Enroll or Make Changes

Open Enrollment Is November 9 - 23, 2022

Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review your benefits, learn about your plan options, and make any changes for the new benefit year. All changes are effective January 1, 2023.

This is your once-a-year chance to:
  • Change health plans
  • Add or drop dependent coverage
  • Enroll or re-enroll in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
  • Review your beneficiary information (add and/or update) in Workday, Fidelity, HSA Bank, and any other relevant accounts
  • Update/confirm your emergency contact information in Workday
Do I need to take action?

We encourage all benefits-eligible employees to review their coverage selections during Open Enrollment. If you make no changes, your benefits from 2022 will remain the same (with the exception of your FSA).

Ready to enroll?

Visit Workday to complete your enrollment beginning November 9.

401(k) Plan Overview

What Is New for 2023

Plan Costs
  • This year, plan costs did increase slightly. Please be sure to review the rate sheet for detailed information.
Plan Enhancements
  • This year, Cigna Medical Plans now have coverage for advanced fertility treatment and bariatric surgery!
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
  • You must re-enroll to participate in FSAs. These do not carry over.
  • If you have a balance of $610 or less in your Healthcare or Limited Purpose FSA at the end 2023, it will roll over into 2024 (if you elect to participate in 2023).
  • Any balance that exceeds $610 will be forfeited according to IRS rules (“use it or lose it” rule)!
  • You have until March 31, 2024 to submit claims for expenses incurred in 2023.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
  • New IRS rules mean that eligible individuals can set aside up to $3,850 and families can contribute up to $7,750 per year to HSAs in 2023. In addition, Proofpoint contributes to your HSA in quarterly installments, for you to use as you choose. You can use that money for medical costs, or, if you reach the $1,000 threshold in your HSA, you can invest toward your retirement as you like, in the same way you would with your Proofpoint 401(k) contributions. If you’re 55 or older, you can elect to make catch-up contributions to your HSA of an additional $1,000 for individual and family plans.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) & Work-Life Services
  • You and your adult dependents have access to confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services for urgent needs, provided by Modern Health’s EAP partner Workplace Options.
  • EAP consists of 2 parts: Counsellor Phone Line and Work-Life Services.
  • Work-Life Specialists can help with customized research and referrals for many needs including childcare, elder care, financial and legal support, travel services, and more.

2023 Medical Plan Options

Cigna Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) with Health Savings Account (HSA)

This plan offers both in and out-of-network coverage and access to the same network of providers as the Cigna PPO plan. There is a requirement to meet the deductible before the plan benefits kick in, and it’s paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Some of the advantages of this plan include:

  1. Lower semi-monthly payroll contributions than other plans
  2. Same network as the Cigna PPO plan (Open Access Plus)
  3. You can contribute money to your HSA before it is taxed (reducing your taxable income)
  4. Proofpoint makes an annual contribution to your HSA – up to $1,200 for individual coverage and up to $2,400 for employees enrolled with one or more dependents.

Note: Proofpoint’s contributions to your HSA are made in quarterly installments. You must be employed by Proofpoint at the time of a quarterly installment for those funds to be added to your HSA. Individuals employed by Proofpoint for the full calendar year receive the full annual contribution.

Is your doctor or hospital in the Cigna Open Access Plus network? Cigna’s online directory makes it easy to find who (or what) you’re looking for.

  1. Lower semi-monthly payroll contributions than other plans
  2. You can contribute money to your HSA before it is taxed (reducing your taxable income)
  3. Proofpoint contributes money to your HSA – up to $1,000 for individual coverage and up to $2,000 for employees enrolled with one or more dependents.

Note: Proofpoint’s contributions to your HSA are made in quarterly installments. You must be employed by Proofpoint at the time of a quarterly installment for those funds to be added to your HSA. Individuals employed by Proofpoint for the full calendar year receive the full annual contribution.

Cigna Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)

This plan has predictable out-of-pocket costs and a lower deductible to meet before the plan shares in the cost of your services or prescriptions. However, this plan has the highest monthly cost to you. You can visit any doctor, specialist, lab or pharmacy of your choice, but you’ll pay more when your providers are not part of the Cigna network.

Need to find a new doctor or want to check if your doctor or hospital is in the Cigna Open Access Plus network? Cigna’s online directory makes it easy to find who (or what) you’re looking for.

Let our Cigna dental plan help you maintain a healthy smile and teeth. You can see any dentist of your choice, but you will receive a lower rate when you visit in-network dentists. The plan allows for two free preventive dental care visits per year, which don’t count towards your annual plan maximum.

Is your dentist in the Cigna network? Need help finding a dentist closer to home? Cigna’s online directory makes it easy to find who (or what) you’re looking for.
